MICRONS & FLATS

Inks done using an Halftone Hospital’s Micron brush in Procreate & a few texture brushes from the Gritty & Rough Packs.

This style uses a lot of contrast with thin linework & large areas of flat blacks. I try to go for a little more texture (tones/hatching) in this style but it can be done with or without texture. This style works really well with little details. In this case it was used for some 18+ work with a pair of mad scientists.

G-NIB

Inks done using an Halftone Hospital’s G-Nib Clean brush in Procreate.

This style is extremely flexible and allows for a lot of extra detail since this same brush manages both those thick lines and the small thin lines in the detail work. Its honestly one of my favourites to use… its also extremely time-consuming. Its really easy to get lost in all the details. Best bet is to give me a small project with lots of time to work on it… aahhh the dream–

VVV TRILOGY

This style is very good for bold illustrations. I’ve got a lot less control with this medium which leads to a lot of character in an illustration and lots of bold black lines with interesting line weights. This style can also be paired with microns below for added texture.

MICRONS

This style is most similar to my digital ‘microns & flats’ style above but with traditional ink mediums I tend to have a lot more control and contrast this style a lot with hard flat blacks filled with a brush pen. This is also the style I used to ink both BADMOUTH and A TEMPO.
